Asian Longhorned Beetle (Anoplophora glabripennis)

Adult female with egg scars  Current distribution in New York

The beetle continues to hang on in NYC, with quarantines still in place in Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, Amherst, and Islip. New beetles have consistently been found in these areas each year, but the quarantine boundaries have somewhat stabilized. Takedown of infested trees and systemic treatment with imidacloprid of host trees within a half mile of infested trees remain the primary methods of control.
