Optimal growing conditions: Alpine goldenrod performs best in well-drained soils under full sun. The plant is completely winter hardy and quite drought tolerant once established. Winter hardiness: Zones 4 to 9.

Susceptibility to pests and diseases: The plant is susceptible to rust and other fungal diseases.

Use: Due to this plant's attractive flowers and low growth, it works well in rock gardens. Alpine goldenrod also has a variety of medicinal uses.
