Physical description: This perennial plant is low growing and reaches 12 in. wide and 6-8 in. tall. The leaves, green and ½ to ¾ in. long, look like moss; during the flowering period, in mid spring to early summer, they are covered by white flowers, giving a very beautiful visual effect.

Optimal growing conditions: Vernal stitchwort prefers full sun or partial shade. Soil can be well drained or moist. During the dry period (especially in summer), it is important to provide moisture. Hardiness: Zones 4-7.

Susceptibility to pests and diseases: The plant has no special problems with pests. Concerning diseases, leaf spot, powdery mildew, and rust may be sometimes problematic.

Use: Vernal stitchwort can be use in front borders and rock gardens. It is greatly attractive when planted between paving stones.
